Claire Murphy graduated from Thomas Aquinas College in 2020 with a B.A. in liberal arts and is beginning her third year in Notre Dame’s Ph.D. program in History and Philosophy of Science. She’s interested in how philosophy of science can employ resources from the history of philosophy, particularly with regard to the interplay between science, art, and nature.

Murphy is working with Paul Blaschko, assistant teaching professor of philosophy, on a comprehensive literature review on the philosophy of work as it relates to technology and capitalism more generally. She is also assisting with a paper on whether there are practical ways to use technology to make workers' lives better in today's world given the various philosophical issues (and obstacles) involved in doing so.
